Good old blogger

Sort of. Maybe I should actually *use* these old blogs I set up for different purposes. Nah, what would be the fun in that?

Silly blog

Going back to the original purpose of this blog--it's here *just* so I can comment on blogger blogs which require blogger logins. My real blog is at http://onlycrook.wordpress.com So there.

Well, darn, if I do actually blog about things that make me laugh out loud then John Scalzi's blog will dominate this one

John Scalzi made me laugh out loud again with his silliness. To quote dear John:

"Also out today, The Children of Hurin, by some bloke with the odd name of JRR Tolkien. Apparently it's been about 30 years between this book and his last one. Dude, write any slower and people will think you're dead or something! I don't know much about this fellow, but my friends who are really into fantasy say he might be good. You know, if you like elves and such. Hey, whatever makes you happy." http://www.scalzi.com/mt2/mt-tb.cgi/4621

For me, though, nothing beats Scalzi's description of Chester Chipmate, which I've read aloud to every member of my family. My poor family.

And then, of course, the comments are frequently as funny as the original post.

For example, I could perhaps include only things which make me laugh out loud

Such as this post from Daylight Atheism, which I'm catching up with at the moment.

In his post called The Root of All Evil, Mr. Daylight Atheism guy quotes a prosperity ministries explanation of the camel through the eye of a needle quote (and hey, if you don't know that part of the Bible, read the darned book): The "eye of the needle" was not referring to a sewing needle, but to the trade entrance in the city wall through which the merchants would bring in their camels laden with merchandise. If the camels were overloaded, they couldn't get through the gate, so the merchant would have to unload some of the goods enabling the camels to continue.

His commentary:

Yes, that makes perfect sense! So, when Jesus said it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter Heaven, what he really meant was that a rich person getting into Heaven was only about as difficult as it was for a moderately laden camel to get through a gate specifically made for the use of camels and other beasts of burden used by merchants to haul their goods. It all seems so clear now!

I love his blog.

Of course, I could perhaps think of another purpose for having a third blog

Besides commenting.

Hmmm....

I'll have to think about that.

Idea for this blog

I have two blogs already. Why another blog?

Obviously, I need a blog which gives me the validity to post comments on other people's blogs, those blogs which *only* allow blogger postings. My other blogger blog is too personal for this purpose, and frequently I can't use my Wordpress blog, so to heck with it. I'll just have this *new* blog.
